Metallic gold Zardozi embroidery over a black velvet, makes up this lovely vintage East Indian clutch purse, circa 1960s.

The evening style bag features a raised and textured hand embroidered peacock in a puffy 3D design and oxidized gold thread in front – and a more silvery threaded peacock in back, as shown – each with blue and red embroidered accents, for the peacock’s body, feathers, and eye.

It also has a black satin lining with two side pockets, and metal snap button closure, and measures approximately 7&7/8 inches across by approximately 5 inches top to bottom, when closed.
